Zahra Masumi
Illumination Artist
Zehra Masoumi is a senior Islamic illumination (الزخرفة – مذهبه) artist with a master’s degree in Art History. She specializes in the illumination of the Holy Quran and traditional manuscript decoration, blending classical techniques with contemporary aesthetics. Masoumi has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions internationally, including Ankara, Iran, Sudan, Lebanon, and Tunisia, and has received multiple awards in Tazhib at national and international art festivals.
In addition to her exhibitions, she has collaborated with renowned calligraphers and contributed to exquisite manuscripts such as Mushaf Sharif, Amme Juzu, and Yasin Sharif. Fluent in Turkish, familiar with Ottoman Turkish, and proficient in English, Masoumi continues to explore the fusion of classical Islamic art with modern expression, bringing historical traditions to contemporary audiences.
